ALDI Pre-made Salmon Dish Recalled For Undeclared Allergen
On May 27, Santa Monica Seafood voluntarily recalled Atlantic Salmon Portions with Seafood Stuffing sold at select ALDI stores for potentially containing soy, which wasn’t disclosed on the product label.
Soy is among the nine most common food allergens in the country. If someone with a severe allergy unknowingly consumes the product, the side effects could be severe.

Public Health Alert Issued for Albertsons Ready-To-Eat Soup
On May 23, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert for Albertsons’ ready-to-eat (RTE) Signature SELECT chicken soup products. The soup label neglected to disclose that the product contains wheat, another of the nine most common food allergens.
The product wasn’t recalled as it was exclusively produced on April 10, 2025, and is no longer available for purchase. But, it’s possible that people still have the soup in their refrigerator or freezer.

Kitchen Faucets Recalled for High Lead Levels
On May 29, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that more than 100,000 kitchen sink faucets with detachable hoses were being recalled. Recent testing revealed that the faucets sold under brand names VFAUOSIT, KICIMPRO, and BASDEHEN on Amazon.com had lead levels that can potentially pose a threat to infants and children.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) states that children under the age of six are at the most risk of experiencing severe health consequences from lead exposure, namely damage to the brain and nervous system.

- Detailed Description of Product: Matte black single-handle kitchen faucets with 360-degree swivel, spring spout design, detachable spray, optional mounting plate, and single-hole installation.
- Dates Sold: From May 2024 through May 2025. Each faucet retailed for about $30 on Amazon.com.
The CPSC urges consumers to immediately replace their faucets for a full refund (you just have to show the seller a photograph of the discarded item). Until you get a replacement, the agency recommends letting the tap run for 15 seconds before drinking it.
