I grew up drinking Arnold Palmers—the classic half-lemonade, half-iced tea drink. Also known as a sandy or a half and half, this beverage has a special place in my heart. So when I learned that Sprite was releasing a new, limited-edition soda called Sprite + Tea, I was excited. Combining lemon-lime soda with black tea seemed like a fresh twist on this beloved drink.
The viral TikTok trend from 2023 inspired the new flavor, where fans steeped Lipton tea bags with Sprite. The trend was started by Malaysian TikToker Hisham Raus, the first to share this refreshing creation with the world. According to A.P. Chaney, Senior Creative Director, Sparkling Flavors North America, the idea to make Sprite + Tea started as an intern research project.
Sprite + Tea will be available nationwide starting May 29, 2025, in 20-oz bottles and 12-pack cans, including a zero-sugar option. The brand hopes Sprite + Tea will become an annual summer offering, similar to other seasonal flavors like Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry.

Sprite is partnering with Eastside Golf, the lifestyle brand founded by Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper, to promote this limited-time release. The collaboration includes a fun new commercial, with rapper Monaleo joining the cast. Fans can also scan a code on Sprite products to access the Sprite Squad digital portal for exclusive Eastside Golf content.
Why I’m Excited to Try Sprite + Tea
I’m typically attracted to these limited-edition soda flavors, but some of them are so crazy (like the Oreo Coke) that I probably wouldn’t try them more than once. With Sprite + Tea, though, I can see the vision. I’m curious about the Sprite-to-tea ratio and the tea’s taste. It seems like a flavor I would reach for regularly.
I’ll be heading to stores soon to see if Sprite + Tea becomes my new drink of the summer!
