I do a simple clean and reset of my fridge each week. Because of its size and awkward design, it’s easy for things to get lost in there and feel cramped. Even with my focused attempts to control it, you’ll almost always find half an onion wrapped in a produce bag, a leftover scoop of pasta in a too-big container, and something I should have already thrown out.
Using square or rectangular containers has made it easier to fit things in and find them. I don’t exclusively have square containers, but when space is really at a premium, I use them because they make efficient use of every square inch.
So when I saw that ALDI had brought back the popular Crofton 12-piece glass storage containers (with snap-top lids), I knew I had to pick up the rectangular set.

Why I Love ALDI’s Glass Bowls with Snapping Lids
For $15, I got six glass containers in various sizes with corresponding snap-lock lids. The rectangular set includes one 7.3-cup container, one 4.3-cup container, two 2.7-cup containers, and two 1.6-cup containers, and they’re available in either red or gray trim.
In a world where similar sets can run $40-plus, this is a fantastic deal. The containers themselves are kitchen workhorses. Made from sturdy borosilicate glass, they can handle everything from the freezer to the microwave and the oven and are heat-resistant up to 425°F. I like using them to bake individual dishes for small breakfast casseroles or baked pastas.
They’re also great for storing frozen homemade soup portions and reheating leftovers in the same container. Because the glass maintains its integrity across all temperature ranges, I can prep, cook, serve, and store without juggling multiple dishes, so long as I don’t shock them by going directly from the freezer to a hot oven or vice versa.
I really love the lids. They snap shut with a satisfying click, and the airtight silicone gaskets create a leak-resistant seal that prevents spills when my husband transports leftovers to work. I have heard that the lids don’t work well in some sets. This hasn’t happened to me, but keep your receipt just in case. ALDI has an excellent return policy and will return or replace your product with one that works.
As a bonus, they come with a black dry-erase marker with an eraser for labeling, which helps us keep better track of leftovers. They are also technically dishwasher safe, but I always hand wash the lids of products like these to help keep them in good, long-term shape.
The nesting design is one of my favorite features because it occupies minimal cabinet space. These containers are versatile and helpful, and are my ideal definition of simplified storage. In other words, they’re totally worth the $14.99 price tag.
