Bob’s Red Mill Overnight Protein Oats
- Availability: Available now on Vitacost and Amazon and at Sprouts, Wegmans, and Giant Eagle.
- Why I Love It: These overnight oats make my mornings so much easier. They’re a wholesome breakfast for my kids that they actually want to eat, and they taste great, too.
Life with little kids feels like a race most mornings—one that starts before the sun is up and doesn’t stop until everyone’s out the door. Between packing lunches, brushing everyone’s teeth and hair, finding that one missing shoe, and trying to get myself ready, my breakfast usually doesn’t happen. The kids are well-fed, but I’m often grabbing cold coffee and their leftovers on my way out the door.
So, when I learned that Bob’s Red Mill launched a new product—Overnight Protein Oats—I was genuinely intrigued. I’m always looking for higher protein choices and smart solutions to help simplify our mornings, and the idea of a nourishing breakfast that practically makes itself was too good to pass up.
I was able to get my hands on both the Blueberries & Cream and Vanilla Almond flavors, but my family blew through two boxes in just a few days, and I immediately had to buy more. After the first morning, the kids (and I) wanted to eat them every following morning until we, sadly, ran out. As a mom, I was so pleased with how delicious and satisfying they were for everyone. Now, they’re officially a new favorite in our house.

Why I Love Bob’s Red Mill Overnight Protein Oats
I can’t praise the convenience of this product enough. I just have to tear open the package, pour it into a mason jar (or any resealable container), add my preferred kind of milk, give it a good stir, and pop it in the fridge overnight. It frees up so much time the next day when we’re all still half asleep. For what it’s worth, I prefer to add the higher end of the recommended 1/3 to 1/2 cup of milk for creaminess, and sometimes I even add a splash more milk in the morning.
Beyond ease, I’m thrilled about the oats’ natural protein content. Each package has 10 grams per serving, with no added powders or fillers. It’s all from the wholesome oats and chia seeds. The flavors, too, are wonderfully layered and delicious. The Blueberries & Cream tastes like a comforting, creamy blueberry muffin in a bowl. The Vanilla Almond, on the other hand, has a warm, sweet aroma and flavor and a subtle nutty crunch.
They’re fantastic on their own, but I love Bob’s suggestion to stir in a tablespoon or two of plain yogurt (I use Greek) or—hold up—crème fraîche! It adds a little extra protein and, from a flavor perspective, gives it just enough tang to balance out the sweetness. I also love to top them with fresh fruit and chopped nuts. They are a wonderfully nourishing and tasty way to start busy days.
Where to Buy Bob’s Red Mill Overnight Protein Oats
At about $6.59 for four 2.12-ounce packages, these overnight oats offer solid value for busy mornings. You can find them at a variety of retailers, including Sprouts, Amazon, Wegmans, Giant Eagle, and Vitacost. They launched in March 2025, so they’re still relatively new, but I hope they’re here to stay.
