Aldi Just Brought Back a $2.99 Crate & Barrel Lookalike and I’m Obsessed

Like many women I know, I’ve spent countless hours scrolling through aspirational kitchen and home photos online, admiring the perfectly curated spaces with gleaming appliances and the ever-so-chic utensils. They’re usually perched in a stylish crock on the counter, looking impossibly neat and clean (read: unused) and ready for action.

But at places like Crate & Barrel, pretty-looking utensils like these retail for around $15 apiece. When I did the math, I realized that even a small set could run me upwards of 80 bucks, without tax.

As though the universe might have heard my silent plea for affordable elegance (or something like that), Aldi came to the rescue and re-released their gorgeous Crofton beechwood-and-silicone utensils.

I am thrilled. Priced at just $2.99 each, these modern kitchen workhorses are practically indistinguishable from their pricier Crate & Barrel counterparts.

Crofton Beechwood and Silicone Utensils

  • Price: $2.99 per utensil
  • Why I Love Them: They’re practically indistinguishable from the Crate & Barrel version—and just as functional.

Why I Love Crofton’s Beechwood and Silicone Utensils

I’ll start with the obvious: They’re beautiful. Whether you opt for classic white (my favorite) or one of the bolder colors like pale blue, dark blue, or deep red, they make any countertop look more pulled together. Even my chaotic, mid-dinner kitchen feel a little calmer with these in the mix.

But these utensils are not just pretty. The silicone heads are gentle on my enameled cast-iron pans and hold up well to heat. (And I’m notorious for inadvertently leaving my spoon or spatula on the edge of a pan in the depths of a simmering sauce.) The beechwood handles are smooth and sturdy, with just enough heft to feel comfortable.

Perhaps best of all, Crofton’s utensils are affordable. Because they’re only $2.99, I don’t have to choose just one or two—I could grab the entire lineup for a little more than what I’d spend on a single Crate & Barrel utensil.

These Crofton utensils represent exactly what smart shopping should be. They’re the kind of Aldi find that reminds me why I should always swing through the home aisle, even when I go in just for eggs.
