Costco’s Newest Food Court Item Is My Summer Post-Shopping Treat

Arguably one of the best parts of going to Costco—beyond the samples and great finds—is hitting the food court after shopping. A slice of pizza and a fountain soda had been my go-to for nearly as long as I can remember.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed getting one of the smoothies or freezes to enjoy on the drive home. However, the berry smoothie is often a little too filling, and the Cold Brew Mocha Freeze is a little too sweet. So, I was really excited to learn that a new Frozen Strawberry Lemonade was being added to the menu for summertime.

On my regular Costco run last week, I grabbed this $2.99 treat after loading up my cart and was truly delighted—it’s light and refreshing, and was perfect post-shopping.

Why I Love Costco’s Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

If you already know and love Costco’s frozen drinks, you’re probably aware they come in a 16-ounce size for $2.99, and the new Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is no different. Unlike the club store’s smoothies, this reads more slushy than creamy.

A tart-sweet lemonade base, chunks of real strawberries, and a strawberry syrup are combined for this ice-cold drink, giving it strong blended margarita vibes. Some Redditors commented on this drink either being “too tart” or “too sweet,”  and I think this might be a result of the menu item being assembled on-site. If not throoughly blended, you might get a sip of the syrup first (very sweet) or the lemonade base (very tart)—but either of those issues can be remedied by a few stirs.

After leaving the cool warehouse for the hot, Southern June heat (and transferring a very full cart to the car), this new fruit-infused frozen lemonade was more than welcome. I loved the tart-sweet balance, but hands-down my favorite thing about this drink was the chunks of icy-cold strawberries.

I’ll absolutely be getting this treat on every trip to Costco this summer—and I think you should, too. As of now, there is no news from Costco on whether this cooler is just a warm-weather drink or a year-round one, so snag one soon just in case.
