I’m not sure if you’ve ever had the pleasure of letting a spoonful of Dole Whip dissolve into your mouth on a hot Summer’s day, but let me tell you, it’s a pretty darn good feeling.
Chances are, though, if you don’t frequent Disneyland, ball parks, zoos, or the like, you may have never even tasted Dole Whip. And that would make sense, because for a long time after its inception in 1983, the stuff hasn’t been accessible to the everyday consumer, much to its fans’ chagrin.
For decades, the brand didn’t offer its frozen fan-favorite in retail stores at all because it was challenging to replicate the smooth, creamy, froyo-like consistency that fans had grown to expect from the theme park version.
That being said, I’ve some big news for my fellow Dole Whip lovers: while the brand made the tropical treat available in select retail stores a few years ago, you can now, drumroll, please!, find Dole Whip at your very own Costco.
Dole Whip Pineapple or Mango Cups
- Price: $11.99 for a box of eight cups (each cup is 3.6 fl oz)
- Why I Love It: With its creamy texture, real fruit ingredients, and nostalgic theme park flavor, Dole Whip delivers a refreshing treat that’s finally easy to enjoy at home.
Dole Whip Lands at Costco in Two Tropical Flavors
A few weeks ago, Dole began distributing Dole Whip (in both pineapple and mango flavors) to Costco, in time for the height of summer. Both flavors are available in 8-packs of 3.6 fl oz cups and are priced at $11.99 per box.
Dole was able to capture the essence of the brand’s original Disney version in both texture and flavor. With puréed fruit as the primary ingredient, these single-serving cups are filled with velvety, smooth tropical mango or pineapple frozen goodness. Plus, they’re both gluten-free and vegan, so all members of the family, dietary restriction or not, can enjoy them.

How To Enjoy Dole Pineapple or Mango Whip
While these Dole Whip cups could easily, and likely will easily, be consumed all on their own, there are a ton of ways to get creative with the newly available dessert.
If you wanted to follow the famous serving method à la Dole, you can use the whip as the topper for a float. While the brand traditionally served the pineapple whip on top of a glass of pineapple juice, you can put a twist on it by mixing mango and pineapple, using your favorite fruit-flavored soda or sparkling water as the base, or even serving it as an adult-friendly treat as a floater for prosecco.
You can also top Dole Whip with any other ice cream topping you enjoy; I plan on using shredded coconut and strawberries.
