Nestlé Toll House Has a Brand-New Limited-Time Cookie Dough, and I Can’t Get Enough

The holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year for baking—especially with my kids. Every year, we have a repertoire of recipes to work through. Some we gift to friends and family, and others we keep to eat in the days leading up to Christmas.

While homemade Christmas cookies are certainly part of the annual rotation, I also like to keep a few packages of store-bought cookie dough in the fridge during the holidays. This kind of dough is wonderfully convenient on snowy afternoons when my kids get an impulsive itch to bake—just pop the dough onto a sheet pan, and voilà!

It’s also a kitchen staple my kids can get crafty with. In fact, we treat packaged dough like edible Play-Doh in our house, transforming the dough into everything from chubby little Santa sugar cookies to reindeer, elves, and more.

As one can imagine, my kids are always excited to see what cookie dough flavors appear at the grocery store leading up to the holidays. It’s never too early to test new holiday cookie dough

Nestlé Peppermint Cocoa Cookie Dough

  • Price: $3.86 for a 14-ounce package with enough dough for 20 cookies
  • Why I’m Excited: We’re a chocolate-loving family through and through. With a touch of peppermint, I can’t imagine a tastier (or more convenient) holiday cookie.

What’s Nestlé’s New Holiday Flavor?

It’s Peppermint Cocoa, which has chocolatey cocoa cookie dough studded with red and white peppermint chunks. If you’re someone who craves Starbucks peppermint hot chocolate all year long, then this is the flavor for you.

I have a house of chocolate lovers, so I tested all of Nestlé’s holiday doughs, and this one was certainly my family’s favorite. We’ll always reach for a chocolate-forward cookie given the option. My kids loved the fudgy chocolate dough; it reminded them of chocolate crinkle cookies. Plus, the whimsical, swirled red-and-white chunks added a nice festive touch.

Considering the ongoing love affair Americans have for anything that tastes like Thin Mints, I have a hunch the peppermint cocoa dough will be this season’s best-seller. You heard it here first.

What Other Holiday Flavors Does Nestlé Have?

Nestlé also brought back two other seasonal flavors for the holidays. Back for its second year, Santa’s Cookie Dough has a rich brown butter-flavored dough, sweet milk chocolate morsels, and a flourish of festive red and green sprinkles. They’re a fancy holiday version of Nestlé’s classic chocolate chip cookies.

Also returning is Milk Chocolate M&M’S Minis Holiday Sugar Cookie Dough. This beloved, limited-edition flavor has enough red and green M&M’S Minis to keep things merry and bright from now through December.

When To Buy Nestlé’s Holiday Cookie Dough
