Every kitchen has a dark corner–a funny, hard-to-see-in cabinet, closet, or pantry; a linen closet with zero overhead light; or maybe a deep, shadowy kitchen cabinet that swallows all your spices. For me, it’s three out of the four above.
It’s especially annoying when it comes to the cabinet above my stove where I keep my oils, vinegars, and salts. I was constantly straining my neck and grabbing my phone flashlight to check my olive oil supply. It was annoying, totally inefficient, and often made me question why I was even using it.
I’d accepted these annoyances as permanent until I found the affordable, Self-Adhesive LED Push Lights at Dollar Tree for $1.50. Now, instead of fumbling around in the dark or having to pull out my phone flashlight to locate something, I can tap the light to brighten up the space and, more easily, find what I’m looking for.
Dollar Tree Self-Adhesive LED Push Lights
- Price: $1.50 for one 2.75-inch LED push light
- Why I Love It: They instantly brighten the dark, awkward corners of my kitchen without any tools, wiring, or fuss—just a quick tap, and the space feels smarter and easier to use.
Why I Love Dollar Tree’s Self-Adhesive LED Push Lights
The lights are simple little battery-operated pucks, about 2.75 inches across, with an adhesive backing that sticks to most surfaces. They take three AAA batteries each (I like to use rechargeable batteries), and all you do is press the center to turn them on or off.
The appeal of these lights lies in their low commitment and high payoff. I don’t have time or the desire to call an electrician just because I can’t see into my cabinet well enough. There’s no drilling or wiring required, which makes them perfect for renters. Even as a homeowner, I love skipping the tools when I can.
They’re absurdly easy to install. I just had to peel off the backing and press the light wherever I wanted it. I wiped down the surfaces with a bit of rubbing alcohol first to make sure they’d stick well, pressed firmly for about 30 seconds, and that was it.
Within a few minutes, I had three dark spots transformed into well-lit, usable spaces. If you’re concerned about the backing sticking to your surface or damaging your walls, I’d recommend using Command Strips (or a similar product) to help them adhere.

How I Use Dollar Tree’s Self-Adhesive LED Push Lights
I currently have one in the cabinet above my stove, one mounted to the ceiling of my linen closet, which has no light source, and two tucked under the upper cabinets above my main prep area in the kitchen. It’s an instant accessibility upgrade for next to nothing.
Beyond the kitchen, I can see the appeal of using them in sheds, coat closets, garbage and recycling storage units, pantries, crawl spaces, and other notoriously dim spaces. If you’re prone to power outages, they’d also be great to have up and ready in key areas in case of an emergency. At $1.50 each, the price feels bonkers for something so helpful.
One downside is that they require three batteries, which is why I prefer to use rechargeables. But overall, I like that they’re battery-powered because I can place them anywhere without worrying about proximity to an outlet. I’ve seen mixed reviews about the LED bulbs. But so far, they’ve been really efficient.
If you’ve got a dark cabinet, a shadowy pantry, or any weird corner where you’re constantly squinting to see what’s there, grab a few of these. They’ll instantly make your kitchen feel smarter and more functional. My only regret is that I didn’t buy them sooner.
