I’ve been buying Aldi’s chocolate Advent Calendars for several years, and they’re one of my son’s favorite gifts of the holiday season. Aldi’s customer-favorite Advent calendars are back on the shelves, and I’m grabbing one (or maybe two!) because they never last long!
Aldi’s Moser Roth Chocolate Advent Calendar
- Price: $17.99 for one Advent calendar with 24 chocolate truffles
- Why I Love It: The luxurious Belgian truffles make each day of the holiday season feel special and delicious. Plus, I love to pair it with Aldi’s wine and cheese advent calendars.
Why I Love Aldi’s Moser Roth Chocolate Advent Calendar
Every year, my son looks forward to getting a chocolate Advent calendar. I’ve tried others, but the best chocolate advent calendar, hands down, comes from Aldi. My favorite Advent calendar from Aldi is the Moser Roth Chocolate Advent Calendar. Aldi imports 24 luxurious truffles (12 flavors) from Belgium, and I love knowing every bite is authentic Belgian chocolate.
I think the chocolate Advent calendar is an absolute steal at just $17.99. They range from dark chocolate mouse to white coffee to salted caramel to milk chocolate.

How To Enjoy Aldi’s Moser Roth Chocolate Advent Calendar (Spoilers!)
This year, the chocolate Advent calendar pairs with both the wine and cheese Advent calendars from Aldi. It’s brilliant. I tried chocolate, wine, and cheese from three randomly chosen days to get a sense of how the calendar measured up this year.
Day one features a milk chocolate seashell, filled with hazelnut praline and a whole, caramelized hazelnut in the middle. It reminded me of Nutella. Aldi pairs it with a Meridia California red Zinfandel in the wine calendar and a truffle cheddar in the cheese calendar.
The wine paired perfectly with the chocolate. A smooth, low-tannin wine melted the dreamy milk chocolate in my mouth.
Day four features a leaf-shaped dark chocolate truffle with a rich chocolate ganache filling. I prefer dark chocolate, and this one is worth savoring. It is dark yet balanced, and the truffle filling has a perfect creamy texture. Aldi pairs it with a South African Sauvignon Blanc. While the wine and cheese don’t clash, it isn’t an ideal pairing. However, the hard goat cheese highlights the rich, deep flavors of the dark chocolate.
Day 19 featured a dark chocolate raspberry truffle. This truffle is a fruit lover’s dream—deep, dark ganache elevated by sweet and tart raspberry. I could have eaten an entire box of one chocolate. Aldi paired it with Shadow Dance red blend, a Spanish red wine. This chocolate-and-wine pairing is my favorite—the chocolate really brought out the wine’s fruity notes. The cheese is a whiskey cheddar, which, while it didn’t compete with the chocolate, wasn’t a perfect pairing.
I can’t wait to taste the other 21 days of chocolates. They’re the perfect way to ring in the holiday season.
