Aldi Has a $34.99 Copycat of a Popular $149 Pot (It’s My New Favorite)

Whenever I’m out to eat at a restaurant with my mom, I will hear her say the same thing at least once while we’re eating, “I can make this at home.” The thing is, she’s usually right! My mom is an excellent cook, and oftentimes finds going out to eat unnecessarily expensive and underwhelming. While I have a soft spot for grabbing a cup of Panera’s broccoli cheddar soup, she’s at home making her own version for a fraction of the price.

I guarantee you’ve seen this hit your social media feed at some point. Aldi has entered the chat with its brand-new Crofton Awesome Pot. Yes, even the name is a cheeky little nod to its inspiration.

Why I Love Aldi’s Crofton Awesome Pot

The one significant difference? Price point. The Perfect Pot retails for $149, while Aldi’s Awesome Pot is available for just $34.99. That means you can buy four Awesome Pots for the price of one Perfect Pot. At the very least, you can buy two—one of each color. The Awesome Pot is available in sage green and creamy white, and both have matte finishes.

The Awesome Pot is the kind of versatile, use-it-for-everything pot that any home cook will use over and over. And lest you think the price point renders it less durable, my Crofton Dutch oven remains perfect after four years of endless soups, stews, and loaves of bread. 

Like any Aldi Find, this is going to be a hot commodity. It drops in stores on October 22, and if you want one—or have strong feelings about which color you want—you’ll have to visit Aldi as soon as possible.

The awesome thing about the Awesome Pot is its versatility—you can use it on the stovetop and in the oven. The ceramic coating is also nice enough that you can use it as a serving vessel if you want. If I buy one for my mom, I guarantee you that she will use it to make a delicious copycat Panera broccoli cheddar soup. Everybody wins!
