Oreo Is Releasing a Brand-New Flavor in 2026, and It Might Be the Best Yet

This might be a controversial opinion among some, but there’s absolutely no such thing as too much chocolate. I simply don’t believe in it. As someone who appreciates all kinds of chocolate-on-chocolate treats—like gooey lava cakes and dark chocolate-enrobed truffles—I’m especially excited about one of Oreo’s new additions for 2026. Hello, Oreo Thins Chocolate Ganache!

The Oreo is already an excellent cookie, but this new iteration is somehow better than the original. Like the rest of the Oreo Thins lineup, this treat boasts a thinner, crispier cookie than a regular Oreo, which the brand says leads to fewer crumbs when you’re snacking. (Not sure if that’s true, but I’ll test and report back.)

The new cookie will be stuffed with a rich chocolate ganache creme, inspired by the French concoction of cream and dark chocolate that’s frequently used to frost cakes.

The new ganache-spiked Oreos feel like a more grown-up version of the original cookie, a treat that will be perfect for dunking into a hot mug of coffee or enjoying as a simple after-dinner dessert.

That said, I’m already looking for absurdly decadent ways to use them, like dipping them in even more chocolate for chocolate-covered Oreos, or crumbling them into a homemade milkshake with good chocolate ice cream and a swirl of hot fudge. (Again, I insist—there is truly no such thing as too much chocolate.) 

Everything Up Oreo’s Sleeve for 2026

Chocolate Ganache Oreo Thins join a solid lineup of exciting new additions to the Oreo family in 2026, including the return of Oreo Reese’s Cookies and new Oreo Minis Peanut Butter for the peanut butter fanatics.

There’s also confetti cake-flavored Oreo Cakesters to look forward to, along with chocolatey Oreo muffins and the limited-edition Oreo Cookie Dough, which has returned to shelves for the first time in more than a decade.

If you’re already clamoring to get your hands on these brand new Oreo Thins, you’re in luck—they started rolling out at grocery stores across the country on December 15. They’re also a permanent addition to the Oreo family, so you won’t have to worry about falling in love with them only to have them disappear.

That feels especially important, because I think once I get my hands on these ganache-stuffed Oreos, I’m going to need to keep them in the pantry at all times.
