About fifteen years ago, I developed a frustrating allergy to alcohol—what started as mild sleep disruption eventually turned into full nights of insomnia, even after just a few sips.
So while alcohol became a no-go for me, I still loved meeting friends for drinks or having something fun to sip with dinner that wasn’t soda. For a while, the only thing that seemed to fit that bill was ginger beer, which I still love. I enjoy making mocktail recipes at home, but was happy to see an increase in non-alcoholic beverage options in bars and grocery store shelves within the last few years!
Things quickly went from very slim pickings to so many delicious NA versions of my old favorites, plus some new faves. The only downside is that they tend to be a bit pricey. I like to splurge on the fancy stuff, but I try to save it for the weekend or special occasions.
I wish I were a fan of flavored sparkling water, but I just can’t get on board. The hint of flavor is not for me—I’d sooner just have water. Not that I’m looking for a sugar bomb, but I’m really always in search of something about halfway between soda and flavored water. I recently found a canned beverage that ticks all those boxes: Izze Sparkling Blackberry.

- Why I Love It: My go-to non-alcoholic drink that’s fruity, fizzy, and just sweet enough.

Why I Love Izze Sparkling Blackberry
It has the most beautiful red-ish purple color—I recommend pouring over ice into a clear glass. It pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, summer salads, or even a simple cheese plate—anything light and fresh.
Not only is this Izze flavor just sweet enough, but it’s reasonably priced. I usually find it between seven and eight dollars for a six-pack. Since I’ve discovered Izze Sparkling Blackberry, it’s been stocked in my fridge and will continue as the weather heats up. It’ll be my summer go-to when I need a fun little sipper with weeknight dinner—or just something to enjoy on the patio with a book.
I might even get fancy and garnish it with fresh blackberries. Then I’ll skip the book, lean back, and soak up the sun with my favorite summer sipper. Cheers.
