The $1.25 Dollar Tree Find So Good I Buy Stacks at a Time



Every summer, I stand in my kitchen with several pounds of fresh peaches from the farmers market, countless baskets of freshly picked blueberries from a trip to my hometown, and exactly one pie pan. That is, until now.

When summer produce season hits its peak, I always want to eat as many fresh peaches and berries as possible, turn some of them into butter and jam, and make as many pies, quick breads, and muffins as I can.

So, in anticipation of this glorious moment in time, I bought a small stack of Dollar Tree’s Cooking Concepts Tin Pie Pans for $1.25 each. Right now, they’re tucked away in my baking cupboard like a secret stash, but they’re about to become my summer baking besties.

Why I Love Dollar Tree’s Tin Pie Pans

I can’t tell you how much I love the summer produce season, when everything is vibrant and full of flavor, and we don’t have to spend a lot to eat well. In my house, this also means it’s peak pie season when I’m often making more than one pie to bring to the barbecue, one to keep for us, and sometimes one just because the fruit was too good to pass up.

These affordable pans make it possible (even somewhat easy) to make several pies at once. Plus, they’re lightweight and stackable, so they fit neatly into my cabinet.

They come in a standard nine-inch size, and they bake surprisingly well, with great heat distribution, which creates flaky crusts. And because they’re so affordable, I can drop a fresh (or unbaked) pie off with a friend and not worry about chasing the pan down. Of course, this makes them more sustainable than the aluminum alternatives, but the sturdier pan also creates a much better pie!

How I Use Dollar Tree’s Tin Pie Pans

These pans prove their versatility beyond fruit pies or pies in general. I know I’ll use them for other desserts, like icebox cakes or par-baked pies, like grasshopper, pumpkin, and this very expensive pie (wink, wink).

I’m even thinking of chicken pot pies (one of my daughter’s favorite meals) for when the weather starts to cool, meal-prepping broccoli and cheddar quiches (or crustless quiches), and, of course, apple pies during the holidays. They’ll even be helpful for warming up leftovers or roasting small batches of veggies.

At just $1.25, I plan to keep several tucked away in my cupboard, ready for whatever seasonal fruit catches my eye at the market or when cozy mealtime inspiration strikes.
