The $2.99 ALDI Find I’ve Been Buying For Over 10 Years

ALDI is the queen of crunchy, salty snacks. Depending on the layout of your store, the first aisle you see may be filled with pretzels, chips, popcorn, crackers, and nuts. ALDI Clancy’s Hint of Lime Chips are one of my favorite items in this aisle. I’ve been buying them for 10 years and will probably be buying them for 10 more. 

Why I Love ALDI Clancy’s Hint of Lime Chips 

These chips are like the store’s regular triangular tortilla chips, but with added lime seasoning. They come in a large green bag, priced at $2.15 for 13 ounces. It’s hard not to break open the bag right after bringing them home from the store. The coating of lime is right up my alley, a zesty switch-up from regular tortilla chips. 

Though the tortilla chips are called “Hint of Lime,” if I were naming them, I’d call them “Pop of Lime.” It’s true, the lime isn’t overbearing, but it is a central flavor, which I enjoy. Though there are some lime-scented snacks out there, like potato chips and nuts, it’s not a common flavor, making these tortilla chips feel extra special. Plain tortilla chips are a classic, but they’re nowhere near as fun as these vibrant lime ones. 

How to Enjoy ALDI’s Hint of Lime Chips 

I use these tortilla chips to make nachos for dinner, pairing them with melted cheddar cheese, black beans, and other toppings. I also like dipping them into guacamole as a snack or tuna salad as a lunch. Since my tuna salad already uses lemon juice, pairing it with these citrus chips is a natural fit. Alternatively, you could crush them on top of black bean soup or eat them with salsa. 

Need a fun party idea? Throw a lime night, serving these chips, a lime crema and corn salad, key lime pie, lime seltzer, and other limey delights. Bonus points to anyone who shows up in a lime green outfit to match. But you don’t need a party to celebrate how good these chips are—they’re just as delicious for everyday occasions.
