This $49.99 Aldi Appliance Is a Copycat of a $499 KitchenAid Product

Whenever I watch The Great British Baking Show, I am mesmerized by exactly one thing. No, it’s not Paul Hollywood’s piercing blue eyes or Prue Leith’s enviable collection of statement necklaces. Neither is it Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond’s cheeky banter or variety of tent hijinks. It’s something even simpler than all of that: it’s the equipment the bakers get to use.

I envy all of the bakers who get to walk into that tent. Waiting for them inside are rows of pastel refrigerators and stand mixers. The whole set feels so cheery and welcoming; it’s no surprise that all of the contestants are in a good mood!

I’m convinced that if I had a mint green stand mixer, I would be a better baker. And it looks like Aldi might just deliver on that dream.

Why I Can’t Wait To Buy This Stand Mixer

Aldi is, without a doubt, my favorite grocery store, and it’s partially because of the variety of ingredients and partially because of its hallowed Aldi Finds. My kitchen is better equipped to handle any recipe that life throws at me because it’s been outfitted with a variety of Ambiano, Crofton, and Kirkton House gadgets.

And Aldi just dropped its most exciting kitchen find yet: an Ambiano Classic Kitchen Mixer.

This is a beautiful dupe of the very famous—and very expensive—KitchenAid Stand Mixer. But the KitchenAid version retails for about $499.99. It is a prohibitively costly piece of kitchen gear, which is something Aldi has now faced head-on. The Ambiano Classic Kitchen Mixer costs only $49.99, which is one-tenth the price of the pricier model.

Now, $49.99 is more expensive than your typical Aldi Find. Many of the products I’ve purchased have maxed out at the $30-39 price point. But considering how useful this mixer will be for home cooks, the price is more than fair.

What I love about this Ambiano mixer is that it comes in two colors: matte grey and matte green. The green is a perfectly delightful shade that wouldn’t look out of place on a bench in the GBBO tent. And the grey is really utilitarian and would make a great addition to any kitchen, regardless of your color scheme.

The mixer is also equipped with three different attachments: a whisk, a flat beater, and a dough hook. Just imagine the kinds of holiday recipes you can whip up (literally) in this thing. Fluffy buttercream frosting, chewy cookies, perfectly bouncy bread dough, and anything else your heart can think of. And it would make an excellent gift for the burgeoning baker in your life—even if that baker is you!

The Ambiano Classic Kitchen Mixer is available at Aldi starting October 22, and, like any Aldi Find, it will likely sell out quickly. Don’t be surprised if you catch me outside my local Aldi on the morning of the 22nd, calmly waiting for it to open. This kind of deal is too good to pass up!
